Welcome, and thank you for checking out my new website, for my new LLC! For those who are not aware, I am moving to Spain with my wife, Rachel, where we will be starting a new life as freelancers, or digital nomads as you might hear if you watch House Hunters. DCDC will serve as an anchor to the city we called home for about a decade and a half, and a convenient acronym for the wares that I will be peddling. Specifically, I’ve been a practicing mechanical engineer for 13 years, and have taken up native mobile application development on my own time for the past 5, and will be attempting to pivot into the latter as an independent software developer while living abroad.
I’ll be using this space as sort of a portfolio or showcase of some of my projects. Since this is the first post, I’ll start with the logo graphic that I have placed at the top of the page, and its animated form. With my mechanical background, one of the software fields that I have taken an interest in is 3D graphics, with its mathematical constructs being closely related to kinematics as I’ve applied in my professional career as a dynamicist. This particular graphic is one I created using Blender to generate the 3D text objects, and Unity with C# to generate the animations. I dropped the project on GitHub in case you want to see how it was done.
